I know I’m getting old. I don’t need anyone to tell me that. My body constantly reminds me that I can’t do the things I used to do.

I’m also at the point in my life where my mind is starting to catch up to my body and they are working together to stop me from thinking that I’m young. Yet there are still things that older people do to prove their age, and they aren’t all good things.

Every generation has its issues and it’s easy to point at the newest generation of mistake-makers and the oldest generation of them. Today we focus on the older generation…because they won’t remember it anyway.

The Baby Boomers as a whole have been resistant to change in mindset and technology. My mom is a great example of this and my dad is the opposite. My mom still calls to ask how to restart her computer while my dad was a computer wiz and was a consultant because of his technological knowledge. Though, he was guilty of the last one on this list, he loved using the phone book for some reason.

This list is mainly the things Boomers do that irritate younger generations, it doesn’t mean they are bad things. Plus, what is Gen Alpha going to do about it anyway? Cry in a corner because the old man is writing a check instead of using a digital wallet?

Things not included in our gallery but were pointed out in the MSN article are the habitual use of traditional media like newspapers and cable TV, having a dress code when going out of the house, a (maybe too strong) work ethic, plain old respect, and having a savings account.
