Residents of California Told 'Do Not Travel' to These Locations

Now that we are headed into the holiday season millions of people will be traveling for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or just to get away from home for a bit.

But, maybe you should double-check your travel plans.

Caution: Californians Should NOT Visit These 31 Places This Year

If you really think about it, it’s strange that anyone living in California would want or need to go somewhere else on vacation. Last year around 270 million people came to the Golden State because it's the perfect place to vacation. You have beaches, scenic cities, majestic mountains, amazing food options, and all other types of destinations.

Still, we look to other places for our vacations. But the world is a dangerous place and even beautiful destinations should be avoided. These 19 places are on the Do Not Travel list along with 12 others that are listed as Reconsider Travel or Exercise Increased Caution.

WARNING: Do Not Travel To These 19 Places

The United States Department of State has four levels of advisories: exercise normal precautions, exercise increased caution, reconsider travel and do not travel. These 19 destinations are currently under a Level 4: DO NOT TRAVEL advisory, so plan your travels accordingly.

Travel Warnings for California Vacationers in 2024

These locations may not be included on the 'Do Not Travel' list but travelers are urged to reconsider visiting these locations in 2024.

Many of the locations on that list are no-brainers and some countries didn't make those lists because they are categorized as 'Other' by the government. China, Mexico, and areas around Israel are a mix of restrictions and travel suggestions.

If a country is currently in the middle of a massive war - it’s not a good place for a vacation. If the place has gained a reputation for kidnapping tourists or general civil unrest - it’s not a good place for a vacation.
