Fundraiser For Idaho Woman Who Allegedly Bit Security Guard Reaches $200K

A fundraiser for a woman who was asked to leave an event in Idaho and was then forcibly removed has reached more than $200,000.

The situation happened at a political event in Kootenai County on February 22nd.

The video, in various lengths, has been shared across social media and news platforms since it happened on Saturday. Some videos only show the woman, Dr. Teresa Borrenpohl (according to the GoFundMe page), being grabbed by men dressed in black jackets and attempting to remover her from her seat.

Other videos show more of the removal, and more context, including the events that led to her being asked to leave. She can be seen shouting from her seat while another person is speaking on the stage. You can watch the full video below to decide for yourself if the removal was necessary or extreme.

Two accounts share different opinions about what really happened that night. The Go Fund Me states:

In a shocking and unlawful turn of events, Dr. Borrenpohl was detained by an unmarked paramilitary squad—an unknown and unnamed group of individuals with no clear authority or justification for their actions. What’s even more alarming is that the local sheriff, who, instead of protecting Dr. Borrenpohl, stood by and filmed the incident on his phone after encouraging her violent removal.

While another source says the following:

Here’s the thing, it wasn’t a government event. It was sponsored by the local Republican Party. You’re going to get a different set of rules from a private organization. And if you keep screaming at the invited speakers, you’ll be asked to leave.

Supporters of the woman have donated more than $200,000 to her cause to help her 'defend her rights' in court and retain a skilled lawyer. Donations have come from as far as Maryland and Australia.
