WATCH: Did You See the SNL Skit Where They Made Fun of Idaho?
Considering the number of jokes you could make about Idaho, it’s surprising we haven’t been featured in skits on Saturday Night Live more often.
Interestingly, I could only find a few SNL skits with Idaho references and neither made any mention of potatoes.

Of the videos, that you can watch at the bottom of this story, they show footage of the courthouse in Twin Falls, but other than that there’s no indication it’s about Idaho.
An older video that takes direct aim at Idaho comes from Tina Fey during a Weekend Update segment about homelessness in the United States. Tina is talking about the least hospitable cities for homeless people and then throws in Caldwell as the most hospitable and then says ‘Got that homeless people? You wanna start making your way to Caldwell, Idaho’.
The episode comes from the show on March 9th, 2002 which was season 27 episode 14.

This isn’t the first time ‘Caldwell’ has been mention on the show though. In a horrible (personal opinion) skit from 1980 titled Patti Caldwell - Stretch Marks…that’s it - her name is Caldwell, so not even Idaho’s version.
There has been a lot of SNL attention in the last few days since they aired the 50th-anniversary special episode.

Here are four other skits where Idaho was mentioned:
