Why Have We Never Heard Of Or Seen These Fantastic Creatures In Idaho?
If you live in Idaho, you know that we love Bigfoot. He’s our favorite creature to talk about and he makes frequent blurry appearances around the state. A recent study confirms that Bigfoot is our favorite mythical monster, but the real surprise is the number of unknown cryptids around the United States.
What Is Idaho’s Favorite Cryptid?
We have a whole section on our website dedicated to stories about Bigfoot and a recent study also proves that we love the big furry beast. But also in the results of that recent study, I was floored at how many different types of mysterious and fantastic monsters there are around the United States that I had never heard of.
Idaho's Favorite Mythical Creature Is No Surprise. The Rest Of The US Are Weirdos
We know about the Loch Ness Monster, Werewolves, and the Chupacabra. Some Idahoans are also familiar with the campfire story of the Wendigo, but have you ever heard of the Mokele-mbembe dinosaur, the dangerous Pukwudgie, or the legend of the Thunderbird?
If we didn’t have Bigfoot as our local legend, I’d honestly jump on the Pukwudgie bandwagon. The name is fun to say and the humanlike creatures seem like something we’d see in Idaho. The Pukwudgie resemble humans but can use magic, disappear and reappear at will, create fire, and lure people to walk off cliffs…or just push them off. Lore only shares tales of Pukwudgie on the east coast of the United States, for now.
