Popular Food Item Returning to the Gem State This Month

Restaurants are constantly changing their menus to add new items. Fast food chains are always adding seasonal items, temporary items, and trying new things to outdo their competition. It is sad when you love a certain item and see it go away, not knowing if you will ever get to enjoy it again, or waiting for it to come back if it is something that is seasonal. There are certain items that come out around certain holidays each year. Some items come out for Halloween, some for Christmas, and some for the smaller holidays as well. One popular food item is set to return to Idaho this month, and customers can't wait to enjoy it once again in the Gem State.

Shamrock Shake Returns to Idaho

It is that time once again. Time to go to McDonald's and order a milkshake. Not just any shake, but the infamous Shamrock Shake. It is only available for a short time each year, and that time is here once again. The Shamrock Shake will be available on Tuesday, February 17, at all McDonald's in Idaho, so long as the machine is working. Not only will the Shamrock Shake be back, but also the popular Oreo Shamrock McFlurry. It may seem like only a shake and ice cream, but when you can only order it for a few weeks out of the year, it makes it extra special. Some anticipate the return of the shake for months, and the wait is nearly over.

Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry at McDonald's

The Shamrock Shake has been around for over five decades at McDonald's, and each year it returns in mid-February and is available until March 17. It then disappears until the following year. Some state that it is only a vanilla shake that is dyed green, but there is a mint flavor mixed in to give it that special Shamrock taste. In 2020, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry was introduced to celebrate 50 years of the Shamrock Shake and has returned each year since, to offer customers two special items in honor of St Patrick's Day. If you are unable to choose which one to get the next time you go through the drive-thru, don't. Get both or get one then and come back for the other at a later date.
