Idaho is filled with cities that are named for special reasons, but sometimes that reason is completely made up or based on lore.

Even the name of the state is based on a lie.

What Would You Call Idaho Cities if You Chose the Names?

Knowing that the names of many cities don't have a real origin, what if you could call it by a new name, like a catchphrase or nickname that better describes the city?

We chose 11 Southern Idaho cities and gave them new, better, slogans. We also decided that Southern Idaho will now be known as 'Better Idaho'.

Those are our new nicknames and slogans for 11 cities in Better Idaho.

Are our suggestions better than the actual nicknames or legal city slogans? Chubbuck has used the phrase 'Life Begins. In Chubbuck' according to Google AI, and that feels like a lie.

Sun Valley has used 'Winter Sports Under a Summer Sun', which is actually pretty good. Twin Falls doesn't have an official slogan, but 'the most livable city' and 'grow with us' have been used.

Buhl does have a slogan 'Trout Capital of the World' due to their high production of trout, but sources say Chile is the real winner when it comes to trout production. Kind of like Wallace Idaho's claim to being 'The Center of the Universe'.

You can say it, and even make a manhole cover stating the claim, but that doesn't make it true.
