Last week was a busy week with winter weather causing dangerous road conditions and uncertainty about schools being open. This week brings more school closures, but they aren't as much of a surprise as a snow day.

Magic Valley Schools Closed on February 18th, 2025

While Monday was a scheduled day off for the majority of the Magic Valley, Tuesday is a different story. The Twin Falls School District is the only school we could find with the 18th off this week.

That could change, as mentioned in the original story below, as a storm is going to move through Southern Idaho later this week. We'll keep you updated on any closures as they happen on our School Closures page.

ORIGINAL STORY 02/16/2025: These days off have been on the school calendars for months now, but some parents - myself included - only know about them because my child reminded me. So, these schools have the 17th off for the President's Day holiday and some also have the 18th off as a teacher in-service day.

You can also see the full schedules for all Magic Valley Schools below.

  • Twin Falls School District - No school February 17 and 18
  • Lighthouse Christian School - No school February 17
  • Xavier Charter School - No school February 17

If your school isn't on the list, check with your students, school, or the your school calendar to see if they have President's Day off and possibly Tuesday too. Valley and Dietrich do not have the 17th listed as a day off on their calendars, so be sure to check with the schools or see if an email was sent out.

There is still a possibility of other surprise days off from school this week and next week as a storm is heading towards Southern Idaho that could drop rain and snow and cause dangerous road conditions.
