Twin Falls is a constantly changing city. Buildings go up and others come down, businesses open and others close, and it’s getting hard to keep track of all of it.

Recent Businesses That Disappeared From Twin Falls

We recently posted a story about some of the surprise disappearances of businesses in Twin Falls. One of those was a long-standing building on Blue Lakes that magically disappeared overnight. The Asia Magic building was famous on Blue Lakes for how it looked and for what people thought was happening inside those green-painted walls. Not far down the street is another long-standing structure that has seen numerous businesses inside over the last few decades. When you see the big anchor on Blue Lakes, what restaurant do you think of?

What Was Here Before The Anchor Bistro and Bar?

Currently, The Anchor Bistro and Bar calls this location home but that anchor has been there for many years and through many tenants of the building.

How Many Restaurants Have Been At This Twin Falls Site?

Currently, The Anchor Bistro and Bar call this location home but that anchor has been there for many years and through many tenants of the building. If you can remember all the way back to the years leading up to 2007, you know why there’s a giant anchor there and that it wasn't made for the Anchor restaurant.

In 2007, the restaurant was a seafood place called Skippers. By 2008 it had become the short-lived Twin Burger and Kabob and then sometime between 2008 and 2009 it became the popular restaurant we now know. If you look at the pictures of when it was a Skippers you can tell better that it’s an anchor as it was silver and had the bottom of the anchor poking out of the ground.
