Power Outage in Twin Falls, Idaho: When Will It Be Restored
The Twin Falls School District sent a message out to parents of students at Canyon Ridge, Magic Valley, and Twin Falls High Schools, Perrine, Lincoln, Sawtooth, Harrison, and Robert Stuart Middle School at 11:21AM.
The school district was working with Twin Falls Power to determine a restoration time. Shortly after the first message was sent, the TFSD sent an update that power would be restored shortly. The TFSD message said:
In consultation with Idaho Power, we are happy to share that power will be restored to our campuses momentarily. A Squirrel, let's call him Sparky, took out the substation.
A squirrel being the real cause hasn't been verified by Idaho Power, but we wouldn't be surprised. Dang squirrels.
The power outage website says that the 8,381 homes and businesses represent a significant 32 percent of tracked customers in the county. Estimated restoration time is noon, December 10th, 2025.
