The Idaho State Police have issued an update on a deadly accident that happened early Friday morning between a female pedestrian and a semi truck.

The accident happened in northern Idaho and continues to be investigated by the Idaho State Police.

Female Pedestrian Dead on Idaho Highway After Being Hit by a Semi Truck

The deadly accident happened on Friday, April 10th, at approximately 1:52 AM, a few miles east of the city of Wallace on Interstate 90 at mile marker 64.

The incident was originally shared on the ISP News Releases page on Friday morning around 6:30, but was updated a few minutes before 3 PM that the victim had been identified. The new report includes the following information:

A red semi-truck, driven by a 30-year-old male from Mountlake Terrace, Washington, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 when it struck a pedestrian, a 49-year-old female of Kellogg, ID, in the roadway.

The female pedestrian passed away from her injuries at the scene of the accident, and her next of kin has been notified.

This vehicle vs pedestrian fatal accident is not the first of the year, and there have been multiple similar incidents over the last few months. In early March, a man from Florida was walking on the highway near Burley when he was hit and killed by a truck. In late December of 2025, a man from Nevada was hit by a truck and killed on SH24 in Minidoka County, and another pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing Blue Lakes in Twin Falls at the beginning of December.

November was also a dangerous month for pedestrians, as there were at least 3 vehicle vs pedestrian accidents reported by the Idaho State Police by the middle of the month.

As the weather warms up, there will be more pedestrians and motorcycles on the roads for drivers to be aware of.
