When Is Easter This Year in Idaho
Easter is a confusing holiday, similar to Thanksgiving, in that they both fall on different dates each year. Thanksgiving is easier to remember, though, because it is always the fourth Thursday in November.
Easter is a lot more difficult since it could fall on any Sunday in the end of March or through the month of April. It all depends on when the first full moon happens after the spring equinox, or the official start to spring. This year, that doesn’t happen until early April.
When Do We Celebrate Easter in Idaho This Year
Statistically, the week with some of the least likely dates for Easter to happen is March 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. That’s good news if you really don’t know when Easter is this year and started feeling stressed when you realized that it was coming up soon. You do still have time to prepare, but only a few days.
Easter in 2026 is happening on April 5th. Next year it will fall on March 28th and then on April 16th in 2028.
What is the Most Common and Least Common Date For Easter?
Late March is filled with uncommon Easter dates, but we just passed the least likely date for Easter. March 22nd is the rarest date for the holiday of rebirth. It’s so uncommon that you, your children, and grandchildren won’t see it happen.
On the other hand, the most common dates for Easter are April 16th and March 31st, as we celebrated two years ago.
The holiday is a time to celebrate the spring season and the growth happening around us in nature, but it is also a religious holiday for Christians to celebrate the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac details why the holiday changes dates every year.
Remember, even though Spring has officially begun in Idaho, it doesn’t mean we are completely done with winter.
