We reported on the severe car accident in an earlier story, detailed below, and just learned about the tragic boating accident from the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office. They didn’t share any details on social media about when, where, age, or gender of the victim, only that the accident resulted in the double amputation of their legs.
The victim was life-flighted from the scene after bystanders and medics administered medical care until the helicopter arrived.
The post also shared that while authorities were responding to the amputation incident, they had teams responding to a sinking boat with people on board and a child locked in a car. The child was safely rescued from the vehicle, and all passengers on the boat were safely taken to land.
Over the weekend, police also responded to a serious car accident in Bear Lake County on Saturday that sent three people to the hospital with serious injuries by ground ambulance. The ISP report says they were all transported later by air ambulance to a local hospital. Other news sources say only one of the occupants required helicopter transport.
The accident report states that a Jeep was driving on State Highway 36 when it lost a front wheel. The wheel hit a Hyundai car occupied by a male from Wyoming and two women from Idaho. After the impact, the car left the road and hit a tree. The three occupants of the Hyundai were the ones sent to the hospital.
Their current conditions are unknown.
