
Washington Motorcyclist Killed in Idaho Crash With SUV Near the State Border
The first fatal motorcycle accident in Idaho’s ‘100 Deadliest Days’ was reported by the Idaho State Police on Friday afternoon. The ‘100 Deadliest Days’ began over the Memorial Day weekend with drivers hitting the road to celebrate the holiday.
ISP reported seven serious accidents over the weekend, with five fatalities and twelve people injured and requiring hospitalization. No motorcycles were reported as involved in those accidents.
Idaho Highway Accident Claims the Life of an Elderly Motorcyclist From Washington
On Friday afternoon, May 29th, around 2:30 PM, an officer with the Rathdrum Police Department arrived at the scene of an accident on the mile marker 11 on-ramp of Interstate 90. The officer called for assistance from the Idaho State Police.
The crash involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by a 72-year-old male from Spokane, WA, and a Ford SUV driven by a 36-year-old male from Sagle, ID.
The motorcycle driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, while the driver of the SUV didn’t require transport and didn’t report any injuries.
Idaho Transportation Department and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department also assisted at the scene of the accident. The accident is being investigated by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho Transportation Department recently unveiled the design plans for a new bridge in Southern Idaho. The bridge will replace the Rainbow Bridge, which crosses the Payette River near Cascade and was built in 1933.
