Joann Fabric and Craft Stores Announce Closures: What it Means for Idaho
A new list of stores closing across the United States following a bankruptcy filing by craft supply chain Joann includes 8 locations.
Idaho has dodged a few bullets in the mass closures of many recent giant retailers, but will our luck run out with the Joann closures?
How Will Joann Fabric and Craft Stores Closing Affect Idaho?
The Joann Fabric and Craft Stores closures will be isolated to 6 states. There are 8 Joann stores in Idaho: 2 in Boise, and 1 in Nampa, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Moscow, and Coeur d’Alene. There are also locations just a few miles across the border in Oregon and Washington.
On the list of stores closing, none of them are in western states. All Idaho locations, and those in surrounding states, are safe for now.

The stores that will be closing are located in Iowa (which many people still confuse with Idaho), Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. On The Street website, they point out that there could be more closures on the horizon as Joann recently brought on 'a team of advisers to assist it with further liquidity issues'.
