UPDATE: Pedestrian Dead After Twin Falls Accident
FINAL UPDATE 10/17/2024: The Twin Falls Police Department has now confirmed that the pedestrian, 80-year-old Henry Frank Yepez, passed away this morning from injuries sustained in the accident.

The Public Safety News Flash from the City of Twin Falls says that the accident happened around 7:13 on Wednesday morning. The driver was an 18-year-old (gender not specified) driving a white 2010 For Fusion. The pedestrian was an 80-year-old male, Henry Frank Yepez, who was transported with serious injuries to St. Luke's in Twin Falls.
Authorities are looking for any witnesses to provide statements and information.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Twin Falls Police Department responded to a tragic accident Wednesday morning in Downtown Twin Falls where a pedestrian was hit by a car.
The accident happened around 2nd Ave E at Hansen Street. The pedestrian was taken by air ambulance to the hospital.
Police Urge Proper Vehicle Light Use on Idaho Roads
Information is sparse on the accident. Twin Falls Police don’t share the age or gender of the pedestrian who was hit or the extent of any injuries sustained, only that the person was taken by Life Flight to the hospital.
No details are shared on the driver or what type of vehicle. They did share with KMVT that drivers need to keep their lights on before the sun rises for their own safety and that of those around them.
The social media posts about the accident were made online between 7 and 8 AM on Wednesday morning. Some social media posts claim the pedestrian died but that information is not confirmed by any authorities at this time.
In the KMVT article, they spoke with Sergeant Howe of the TFPD who stressed the importance of proper vehicle lighting at all times. He also says that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
