Is It Crazy For A 6 Year Old To Have Their Own Computer?

This school year has been an interesting one in The Bird House. Titus is in 3rd grade and now part of his homework is to type his book reports. Which up until Christmas had meant more work for us because we had to monitor him on our computer so he didn't erase any important files (not that he would on purpose...but if you have ever seen what a child can do to a computer then you know what I mean).

For Christmas gifts for the kids it was basically "what electronics do we want to get them" since that was all they were asking for! We ended up buying a cheap used computer for Titus (8) and Kylee(6) - which still seems crazy to me that they are old enough to be typing! I expect them to be programming apps and making a ton of money soon :)

Do your kids have their own computers? When did they learn to type?
