31 Students Aboard Idaho School Bus When It Crashed Into a Car and Power Pole
Last week the Idaho State Police reported an injury accident between a school bus and a Honda Civic in Northern Idaho.
While the investigation is still ongoing, the police news release states that the accident happened on December 6th at around 3:40 in the afternoon on State Highway 54 near Athol.
Idaho School Bus Occupied by 31 Students Misses Stop Sign and Causes Crash
The school bus was driven by a 38-year-old female traveling south on Clagstone Road and was occupied by 31 students at the time of the accident. The bus driver failed to yield to traffic at a stop sign on State Highway 54 and hit a 2003 Honda Civic driven by a 47-year-old male.
After hitting the Honda, the school bus then hit a power pole where it came to rest.
1 Student Reported Injury in School Bus Crash in Northern Idaho
The school bus was full of Elementary school children and the only injury reported by the kids was a cut lip. The driver of the Honda was taken to Kootenai Health with injuries and he was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.
Following the accident and assessment by EMS, the students were loaded onto another bus and taken to a church for parents to pick up.
