Some Magic Valley Parents Are Intentionally Delaying When Their Kids Start Kindergarten

When I was a kid one of my friends did Kindergarten twice. He was a bit older than the rest of our group of friends so his parents decided to hold him back so he could go through school with the rest of us...which was cool because he got his license to drive while we were still in Junior High! Some parents are intentionally delaying when their kids start Kindergarten to give them an edge in school. They call it "redshirting" which in theory makes their kids bigger and smarter than the other kids in their class because they are older. What happened to being proud of your kid for excelling and starting (or finishing) school early?! What do you think about redshirting kids?
