Do You Think Cursive Should Be Required In Magic Valley Schools?

This caused a heated discussion here at the radio station yesterday. Is cursive a necessary thing to teach kids at school? Mine has obviously not done me any good...

Teachers have so much to teach already, and the kids are already busy learning regular writing and now computer typing is so essential that cursive seems very unnecessary! It is a pretty thing to learn.

So maybe it could be taught as an elective for art class, but definitely not required. That's what I think.
