In a welcome surprise, and one that doesn’t happen often in Idaho, a construction project has finished early in Southern Idaho.

The Shoshone Grade has been in dire need of fixing for many years, and last Fall, the road was closed and the repairs began.

About 3 weeks ago, the City of Twin Falls announced that the construction progress was on track and announced that work would be done and access reopened towards the end of May. But today, they announced that the work was done and access to the Shoshone Falls is back open.

That is awesome news for Twin Falls and the world, since people come from all around the world to see the famous Shoshone Falls.

This means vehicle and trail access is open to the Shoshone Falls and the Shoshone Falls Park.

However, the City of Twin Falls also announced that access to Dierkes Lake is still closed and won’t be open until the beginning of June.

The reopening of the road and trails is also great timing, as there is enough water going over the falls right now to be a good show for visitors.
